1. What do I get for my entry fee?

All participants for the 10K, 5K, and kids run receive a tech shirt guaranteed if registered by 7/15/15 . All finishers receive a custom medal. Top female and male runners in 5K and 10K receive gift card awards. All participants receive free post race food and beverages sponsored by Absopure, Powerade, McDonalds, and Panera Bread. Activities during race day include sketch artist, face painting and music!

2. How can I sign up for the events?

Online registration is now open on our website at: www.escapetobelleisle.com or you may send in a mail in registration with the attached flyer. You may also register the morning of the race at the casino at “Late Registration” tables.

3. What are the age limits for the races?

There are no age limits. We encourage participants of all ages to join us.

4. Are the race events walker friendly?

Yes, we will have plenty of participants that will walk. If you plan to walk the race, we do require that you line up at the back of the race corral at the start so as not to impede the faster runners. There is an 1.5 hour time limit for all racers, running or walking.

5. Where can I find the course maps?

View all course maps of the Escape to Belle Isle Run 10K and 5K courses under the course tab.

6. Are there refunds if I cannot attend? Can someone else run with my bib#?

NO REFUNDS; ONLY TRANSFERS ALLOWED TO ANOTHER PERSON BEFORE ONLINE REGISTRATION CLOSES.

7. Are baby joggers or strollers or pet dogs allowed during the race?

Yes! If you choose to run with a baby jogger or a pet dog, you must seed yourself in the back of all runners. It is your responsibility to make sure the baby jogger or pet dog does not impede other runners as well as you must take extra precaution as to your safety, your child's safety and the safety of the runners around you. We reserve the right to pull any person from the race who is endangering other runners or themselves.

8. Are headphones (iPods, mp3 players, etc) allowed during the race?

Yes! Headphones are allowed for any runner however, we do recommend that runners use extreme precaution when using headphones during the race event for safety reasons.

9. When is the last day to register?

The last day to register “online” is: Thursday, July 13 at 12:00 pm EST. "Onsite Late Registration": at the Late Registration Tables at the Casino on the morning of the race, starting at 6:30 am.

Packet Pick Up:

10. How will I receive my race packet?

You must pick up your race packet before the event. We will not mail race packets. Packet pick up will be the morning of the race at the Belle Isle Casino at the “Pre Registration” tables. Your bib number (if registered online) will be posted as well as emailed to you before the race.

11. Can someone else pick up my packet for me?

12. Where is Belle Isle State Park?

Belle Isle is off of Jefferson Ave, Detroit MI 48207

13. Can I register on race day?

Yes there is late registration only on race day morning from 6:30am to 8:15 am at our Late Registration tables.

14. Do you accept credit cards for registration on race day?

Yes.

Race Information:

15. Will there be fluid aid water stations?

Yes, there will be FLUID AID WATER STATIONS every 2 miles in the 10K, and every mile in the 5K event. Also water provided at the start & finish areas. The FIRST AID EMERGENCY station is located at start/finish line area and course marshals are located on all three courses.

16. Will there be energy drinks on the course?

No—just water at water stations.

17. Will there be bathrooms/Porta-Johns available?

Yes, available at start/finish area along with bathrooms at the Belle Isle Casino. Bathrooms are also sporadically located along the grounds of the park on the 10K and 5K courses.

18. Where can we park for the races?

Parking is available in the large lot in front of the Belle Isle casino.

19. Where are start/finish lines and the event start times?

Start and Finish lines are at the Belle Isle Casino for all races. Start time for the 5K and 10K is at 8:30 am. Kids fun run starts at 10:00 am.

20. B-Tag chip timing?

You only need to wear Race B-Tag Number on shirt front (Chip in bib) so not required on shoe to be scored in 10K, 5K .

Awards:

21. Age Group Awards?

No age group awards--- trying to give all the proceeds to the Ronald McDonald House charity! We will have the top Male and Female in the 5K and 10K receive gift card prize money. These will be given out at the conclusion of the 5K race and the 10K race. You do not have to be present when the top female and male racers are announced.
